Happy Post Memorial Day!

I had over 100 hits on this blog for the holiday weekend. One Hundred. I’m completely blown away right now! You have no idea how much that means to me! I wanted to apologize for not really updating at all this weekend (well, outside of the 5k update that is)… it has been a stressful and a relaxing weekend all rolled into one.

Stressful portion of the weekend: as some of you may know, I am maid of honor in a wedding in July (see here and here for very short and cryptic posts on what I’m thinking about all of it). Well, this weekend one of the bridesmaid’s sisters decided that it was in her best interest to give me her two cents on the whole dress issue. Aka, I was harrassed… by someone who had nothing to do with the situation at all.

A little back story… Said bridesmaid and I were friends in high school. The bride and I go back to 3rd grade (that’s a long time). Well, in January, bridesmaid (we’ll call her Feathers) showed me two of her designs for our dresses for bride’s (aka Shawn, a la Boy Meets World) wedding. Both designs were designed for skinny people… Feathers and bridesmaid number two have nice, petite bodies. I do not. So, Shawn and I went dress searching the week after this happened, and I tried the perfect Alfred Angelo (wedding dress designer) bridesmaid dress on. It was the exact design that my chubby body was comfortable in… so we decided that I should send the photo to Feathers. Who decided to tell me that I had “imagination less than a 5 year old” and that “she’ll forgive me for not wearing my glasses when looking at that dress.” It was nasty, to the point that I dropped out of the wedding.

As of last week, I’m back in said wedding, and said Alfred Angelo dress is on it’s way to my house (hopefully) as I type this. Or at least it’s in production.

Cue Feather’s older sister “Pirate.” She decided to try to guilt me into wearing Feather’s designs because I had “hurt her feelings” and she is a “professional talented designer” SHE JUST GRADUATED COLLEGE IN SPANISH AND THEATER…. meaning, she wants to be a COSTUME designer.

See? Stressful and dramatic.

Ugh. I need Zumba right now… but I am in my office so that’s not happening.

As for the relaxing part of my holiday… well, I spent it like most on Memorial Day (after the 5k part that is). Lounging by the pool, swimming, enjoying my best friends’ company, and sitting by our newly acquired fire pit (yay!). The boys and I also visited my dad at his work yesterday, meaning we got to ride in a fire truck around the air base (my dad has the coolest job).

Now that I finally have the whole drama crap off of my chest, one other thing happened over the weekend… I got an email from my ZES (Zumba Education Specialist) about our schedule for training. Ready to see what I just got myself into?

I can’t believe she said that to you! That’s awful and really nasty. I am sorry. I hope it is all resolved. Good luck with Zumba!

That wasn’t even half of it, trust me. Ugh, I’m so annoyed with them… I almost caved and had delicious looking Oreos (which I had bought), and then looked at the box just to throw them out (yay me!).
